One of the greatest assests of the CBM is its broad network of collaborators, ranging from researchers and educators to outreach staff and students. We also are indebted to our funding partnerships - without them we would not be able to develop our innovative programs. Many of these relationships are highlighted throughout our website, but additional information about some of our partners is provided here.

SO/SMART Partners

The SO/SMART program is funded by an HHMI Precollege Science Education awards and 3D Molecular Designs is a program sponsor for the 2010-2011 Science Olympiad competitions.

The SO/SMART program focuses on the national dissemination of two high school programs developed at the CBM - the Science Olympiad Protein Modeling Event and SMART (Students Modeling A Research Topic) Teams.

The SMART Team Program...changing students' lives, one protein at a time.

In 2008, the MSOE Center for BioMolecular Modeling partnered with the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health to disseminate the SMART Team program to eight research institutions across the US, with support from an HHMI Precollege Science Education program.

Our strategy is to work closely with established science outreach programs at each of these institutions, who will adopt or adapt our local program to complement their own unique science outreach efforts.
